Title

Manifesto Contra Concreto

Files

The Manifesto Against Concrete is a study of expressive materials that transit between the concrete world, with collisions and hard matter, and the virtual world, which has no gravity or collision of particles in their original form. A concrete body is scanned for the virtual and flexed again for the concrete, thinking about actions of existence and performance in these two universes where the lightness of the virtual meets the hardness of the concrete. The flight without gravity in the virtual infinite space is tensioned in a shaky and unstable flight that suffers the effects of gravity, wind and temperature.

The work is composed of a video of the behavior of sculpture in the concrete world and its 3D correspondent in the virtual world, as a comparative study of digital existence and tactile matter.

The first part of this study was presented in the work “Manifesto Against Gravity” from 2015 to 2019 which presents questions and solutions to the problem of gravity in sculpture, both concrete and virtual.
